Regina King is a new addition to the cast and she does an okay job, nothing memorable though. This world can use all the light it can get. Well, Elle funny rhyming there achieves the requirements in tests and community service, and sends in a very interesting video essay, and gains entrance to the prestigious university. Reese Witherspoon plays California sorority girl Elle Woods. As an aide for Congresswoman Victoria Rudd, she pushes for a bill to ban testing once and for all, but it's her building's doorman who advises her on how to get her way on the Hill. More like a re-textured repeat of the previous movie; 'Legally Blonde 2' did not push any new boundaries in its world or offer any new concepts. This movie is so cute and I would highly recommend this movie for a girls night out! I was actually embarrassed to be North American.
Also in there is 'Waiting. We were steadfast, united in our complete and utter loathing for this execrable movie. It was pretty much the same as the first movie and so it was a pretty pointless sequel. In the end, this sequel may seem funny but I assure you it isn't. The original wasn't an Oscar quality film, it was just a fun film to watch. The supporting cast includes Luke Wilson Emmett , Selma Blair Vivian , Victor Garber Professor Callahan , Jennifer Coolidge Paulette , Holland Taylor Professor Stromwell , Ali Larter Brooke Taylor-Windham , Jessica Cauffiel Margot , Linda Cardellini Chutney , Alanna Ubach Serena and Oz Perkins Dorky David , with a special appearance by Raquel Welch as Mrs.
I was most impressed by the final speech in front of the Houses, where she cited a bad day at the hair salon, but the moral of the story hit a homerun!! She's the president of her sorority, a Hawaiian Tropic girl, Miss June in her campus calendar, and, above all, a natural blonde. My rule when rating movies is to review it all by itself. I not really sure why this did not seem to get as good as reviews as the first. I don't mind if all her characters tend to be the same to a certain extent because they tend to be quite funny and cute--who can't laugh at her Elle Woods persona? Bob Newhart's excruciating turn as the know-it-all hotel doorman cum political mentor. Legally Blonde 2001 Elle Woods has it all. That a film sequel will invariably fail to meet the standards of its predecessor is nearly axiomatic. The story is idiotic, characters change their minds and motivations for no reason other than to fit into where the plot is going, and everything wraps up in a way that is nauseatingly phony.
So, Warner enrolls at Harvard University, leaving Elle it sounds like the letter 'L' disheveled and sad. She shines like the sun in this movie. Reese continues to play the character superbly. Not always, but occasionally, a movie is so much more than what it appears to be on the surface, and this is one of them. This sloppy, lamely plotted, cash-in sequel has none of those things. It's not something I'd buy, but one that is a great rent for the whole family.
So, to sum up - a very bad movie. Abducted by Hollywood to make useless, vanilla movies like this, apparently. I'm not one for movie sequels but I would definitely entertain the possibility of seeing a Legally Blonde 3, maybe something to do in the vein of the spiritual. Elle Woods 2006 Oscar Winner Reese Witherspoon has it all. It's a film that's worth seeing many times over, and that's the magic of the movies. There were a few funny moments though most of the jokes this film delivered were, at best, small chuckles. After Elle Woods, the eternally perky, fashionably adventurous, famously blonde Harvard Law grad gets fired by her law firm because of her opposition to animal testing, she takes her fight to Washington.
Acting is really below average, Reese is just plain annoying, and though she's quite talented actress, the script is so bad that her talent is in vain. Now, she strikes me as a fairly intelligent young woman. For indeed, throughout the course of this tale, we do hit a number of arid stretches where we feel that we should be laughing an awful lot more than we are. The film felt a lot longer since the movie just wasn't funny. Good job, to all who had a hand in its production. Smart enough to pick herself up and make a decision that stands them all on their ears. The running time is a brief 95 minutes though it feels a lot longer then that.
It really brought and smile to my face. Should I waste more of my time or yours decrying the utter waste of Jennifer Coolidge in this movie? The premise of the story has to do with upscale sorority girl Elle Woods Witherspoon , who instead of getting the long awaited, much anticipated marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Warner Matthew Davis , finds herself jilted as he prepares to leave for Harvard Law School. This was not as fresh as the original, but still kept my attention and kept me smiling. There's no question that this is Witherspoon's movie, and it's one of the best performances of her career. Witherspoon, who managed to inject the character of Elle Woods with a believable combination of ditziness and sweet charm. This is a actually an empowerment flick disguised as a fluffy comedy -- which makes it wonderful viewing for impressionable young girls like my youngest daughter, who is 14. As virtually every other reviewer on the planet has noted, the original 'Blonde' had some amusing moments, most of which were supplied by Ms.
That's the mindset you have to have when watching Legally Blonde, the movie that Reese Witherspoon managed to get a Golden Globe nomination out of. It goes downhill from there. She dates the cutest fraternity boy on campus and wants nothing more than to be Mrs. One of the persons I went with just wanted to see Reese Witherspoon in a Playboy bunny costume, so I figured I was in for another average run-'o-the-mill sex comedy. It's a damning testimony that 1 the writers of this movie were so desperate for script fodder that they came up with this stunningly lame idea in the first place; 2 that they play it so shamelessly for laughs; and 3 that certain plot twists depend on this fact. Missing from this sequel is Selma Blair, this doesn't matter though as her character wasn't really needed. I enjoyed Legally Blonde I.
That perky little Reese Witherspoon how can you not kinda like her, huh? Reese Witherspoon returns and she does a good job but she's working with a weak script. If downloading is available, you can to two locations. And, for the viewer, right out of the gate this is someone you want to see succeed in her quest, because her triumph-- whatever it may be or however it comes out-- is going to be one you share right along with her. Some new release movies become unavailable for downloading for a limited time due to licensing restrictions. Well, in some time, corrupted politicans are defeated, and blondes reign supreme, although it is hard to believe they are able to actually comprehend what they were fighting for. And I wish I was in a different theater. Needless to say, there is not a single believable moment in the film, but that is generally the case with most fish-out-of-water scenarios anyway.
In fact, let me help you: Don't judge a book by it's cover. If a movie can do that, it's done more than its job. Who knows what monumental contributions an individual is capable of making in this imperfect machinery we call society if they are prejudged into oblivion? And it makes you root for her all the more. This movie simply fails to achieve a level of even average at any position like plot, script, directing, acting or relevant ideas.
