Avast is okay but voice process 'bout items is hardly necessary seems to update more on its own but i could be wrong. I run Avast free and like it very much. Scans take a while, but that's my only gripe. I would not feel unsecure with Avast free.

I downloaded it directly from Avast last summer sorry, didn't make this clear in my previous post but since then there have been a few updates. No matter how good an antivirus or any other security program is, something might always get through. But I can't see a connection between scanning for viruses and playing music. Multiple tabs and plugins are convenient, but are not worth it if they lead to system instability due to lack of memory. If Chrome is your browser of choice and you are experiencing slowdown, the problem could be related to the lack of adequate random access memory. I have used it, and know several others who do also, and I am not aware of a single infection.
Well just read Noiku's post. Program runs nicely, fast and stable. My actual pick, I hate to do it,. I even get end user comments on how much slower their computers feel with it. Every so often, if I think of it, I'll run an online scan at some site. I'm afraid the support is wrong in this case. They did have an ancient update patch.

You are assuming that the malicious code always has to be written to disk; if it is, then yes, the File System Shield probably, because it has lower sensitivity than Web Shield detects it. Anyway i didnt mess up with the comodo settings coz i dont know how to! Anyone else in this community have issues with Avast's latest and greatest? Else i will have to switch to another antivirus but i love Avast. But there are others who love the media type interface. I think I may be infamous in regards to one certain product.
